Founded in late 2005 under the disgustingly uncreative moniker of "LibbyLAN", this group was intended to organize the fledgling PC gamers in the small community of Libby, Montana, as well as provide a safe and legal pastime for local youth. Slowly, as rigs improved and popularity increased, larger and more exciting experiences were made available to the local enthusiasts, one such experience being FragFest, an event conceived by EkaÃnfinitos. This no-holds-barred, LAN gaming frenzy soon became an annual tradition held every March, with three highly successful iterations to date.
Fast forward to 2007, the the group was redesignated as the "Libby InfinityM" and the corresponding Steam group was established, all the while suffering due to the now remote locations of nearly half its members. In order to prevent the organization from fading into obscurity, its members embarked on a ferocious publicity campaign targeted at local youth in order to provide enough resident members to continue to provide quality events. This campaign culminated with FragFest 2008, which was a rousing success not only in reclaiming remote members, but also securing newer, local ones. The victory was shortlived however, as founding member and long-time administrator EkaÃŹnfinitos suddenly defected from the ranks. At this, the group slowly stagnated and, despite a handful of subsequent events, came grinding to a halt.
It appeared to be the end of the organization until elder members PingBot and Boothman1 persuaded EkaÃŹnfinitos to return, breathing new life into the group nearly six months after FF2K8. It was at this time that the three began to consider merging the LAN group Libby InfinityM with the online gaming clan Lost Youth Federation; a merge that was unanimously agreed to be a long overdue and, perhaps, neccessary action. At this new union, the acting name of the LAN group was reduced to its more compact version, LyM. Along with a change in title, a refreshing new look was incorporated to fully convey the bright, fulfilling territory which the group was about to embark into.
